Step 4 - The Cleaning of Lineart

This part is easy, and fun! This is where you erase the gesture drawings you made, leaving only the solid lineart on the page. This will be the finished lineart you'll be working with, so make sure it's smooth, the lines are closed and connected, etc.

At this point, I always try to open up areas that I know will be filled in black (for example, the ring on Murphy's shirt and his jacket, in panel 2, or Hassan's hair and shirt in panel 4). Get rid of any lines that might have separated these areas from each other. This just saves a few clicks in the next step... and it's fun to watch all the black fill in to all the right places!
